Winter holidays are a great time for celebrations and deep reflection. We contemplate fresh starts and new goals while we take time giving gifts of 'thanks' to those who mean the most in our lives. It is a time to get your affairs in order and dream those big life dreams.
Keeping a journal can be a very personal and therapeutic practice. Everyone has a different approach but in the end we are all a little less stressed after writing down our thoughts. Keeping a gratitude journal or a quote book can be a positive daily ritual to help you stay focused on your goals.
Personally I always prefer to physically write things down on paper , which has led me to acquire a notebook collecting problem.
When I create these journals I am trying to make a book worthy of your thoughts and inspirations. A safe space to feel empowered and inspired or a convenient place to write down your grocery list. In the end I hope it is an artistic addition to your life.
These journals feature original abstract watercolour paintings on their covers. They are hand stitched with bamboo cord using a coptic stitch that allows the binding to open flat to any page.
I have a slight obsession with notebooks and have found them to be very helpful in keeping me organized and somewhat sane. My memory is more accurate if I physically write things down rather than tap them into a device so I try to write my important thoughts down as quickly as I can. This little notebook (4" by 3") is great for short lists, reminders, quotes or any other brief thoughts you may have. It fits in a purse, discrete corners or small drawers which makes it an easy book to have on hand.I enjoy creating these fancy thought vessels and try to make each of them a useful work of art. Journals can hold your darkest most painful emotions or fondest recollections of your happiest moments. This journal is bound with a coptic stitch that allows the book to open up flat to any page. I have found this binding to be incredibly durable and effective!
I personally love moleskine notebooks and use them to record my own creative thoughts. Writing is a meditative ritual for me and I am always searching for beautiful notebooks and lately I have been making my own! These covers were fun to create and are done in the style of some of my watercolour paintings.
I used thick watercolour paper for the cover which makes it stronger and added the ribbon to prevent the pages from getting bent. I like to throw my notebooks in my purse so I can write or doodle on the go.
